The Monkey Plane

Okay, so this post is for Ticia at Adventures in Mommydom, who had some disappointing paper airplane flying, with her children, this week.

My husband learned how to make this paper airplane from a friend in the 5th grade. It flew so well, and distracted so many of the students, that the teacher finally gave up teaching for the day, and held a paper airplane flying contest. The monkey plane, as my husband, or his friend, named it (who knows why), won first prize - and he's been making them ever since.

He agreed slow down the process enough for me to snap some pictures, for a photo tutorial.

After a couple of dud throws, the children, and I got the hang of it, and had the monkey plane gliding, swooping, and diving around the yard. It even received a, "This is awesome!" from the little man of the house.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

We'll give that one a try. They're rather disappointed in mine so far.

Complicated, but fun! I personally think that the paper size plays quite a role too - I had a much better flying results with fat small (and therefore light) planes.
