Toilet Paper Tube Dragon "Puppet"

There are a number of crafts, like this, around the Internet, but we were especially fond of the version we found at Arty Crafty, that they used for a How to Train Your Dragon party.

For ours, I had the girls cut strips of yellow, and red, crepe paper, streamer "flames", which I stapled into the front of a toilet paper tube, closing that end of the tube in the process.

Then, they glued on googly eyes, near to the closed end.

Finally, they painted the bodies with watered down glue, and stuck on squares of green tissue paper.

After they were dry, the girls were quite happy to play with...

...and "battle" their dragons...

...until their brothers pointed out they were missing wings. A fact, we quickly rectified, with another spot of glue, and a strip of green construction paper, trimmed, and folded to suggest dragon wings.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

My boys would love it, but they would not last long in their battles. :)
