- a cup
- a tiny bit of undiluted dish soap
- and a straw.
It took a few tries to get the hang of it...
... but it wasn't long before the air was full of streams of tiny bubbles.
The book cautions, that young children might try to drink the soap, instead of blowing bubbles. Mine have learned from personal experience, not to do that. But, I will add a caution - each time you dip the straw into the soap, when you lift it out to blow the bubbles, a drip of soap falls down from the straw.
My girls didn't seem to understand they needed to hold the straws over their cups, and they ended up covered in dish soap. So, you might want to plan a bath time, after this activity, or a good run in...I don't know...maybe, a pop bottle sprinkler?
It's great to be a homeschooler.

Cool! I have never seen a pop bottle sprinkler either!
You made a pop bottle sprinkler. Totally heading over to check that out now.
Now I have that song stuck in my head...:0)
Fun! Thanks for the reminder about the pop (we call it soda here, no one ever says pop in MA) bottle sprinkler. Our sprinkler broke a while back and I meant to do this and then forgot.
My kids would drink a lot of detergent - I just know it.
I love seeing the pictures of the girls - sometimes they look like twins! We didn't have enough bubble blowing either despite having plenty of store-bought bubbles. I have to add it to the list of things to do before summer is over.
We did this last night! perfect way to goof off at the end of the day. Thanks for the idea!
