We found the idea for this "happy meal" made from cupcakes, cookies, and brownies, as well as the super cute printable for the tray and wrappings from www.bakerella.blogspot.com/2009/06/fast-food-fun.html. We didn't have all the mixes suggested, so we made ours from scratch (except for the brownies), but still found this to be a very kid friendly recipe. The hardest part was getting the cupcakes out of the pan, and cut evenly. After that it was pretty simple.
Since Bakerella gives some wonderful step by step instructions, I won't go into all the details of how we put this little meal together. We did substitute sugar for sesame seeds on the bugers, and we cut the brownies out with a drinking glass. Oh, and when we printed the wrapping we didn't have special paper, so we just used typing paper, and printed the tissue paper page on the front and back of the paper to give it a see through look.
If you want to try this little snack yourself, my suggestion is to allow about three and half hours from start, to the finish of the clean-up (our clean-up was extensive - three mixing bowls, baking pans, and frosting everwhere!).
And, don't forget to make an extra plate of "burgers" and "fries" for the kids, to guarantee that Dad will get his "happy meal" to himself.

It's great to be a homeschool...dad!
