Polymer Clay, Lego Minifigure, Play-Doh Mold

Using two, single ounce blocks of bakable polymer clay, squished out into similar rectangles, press a Lego man, face up, halfway down into one block...

...then gently press the second block down over the first...

...to mark where to press the Lego man...

...face down into the second block.  Be careful not to press the man too deeply into the clay, or you will end up with extra fat play dough men.

Bake the blocks according to instruction for the clay.  For us that meant 20 minutes at 275°F.

After a few minutes of cooling, the molds will be ready to use.  Simply load one side with a blob of play dough.

Sandwich the dough between the two molds, and press them together as hard as you can.

Remove the top mold.

Trim away the excess play dough with a butter knife...

...and remove the finished man from the mold - mostly finished anyway, you might need to gently squish in any rough edges.

Once you've mastered molding monochromatic men, you might even want to try multiple colors.

Unless, of course, your one of those maniacs who tries to keep their play dough colors from getting mixed.

Then, I'm afraid you're on your own.

We are loving all your LEGO posts. Thanks! We did the mini-fig gummies today, and that was so much fun.

How cool to make your own play dough mold. We haven't really used polymer clay much.
