Nesting Bag Success

We noticed today, that it looks like birds (we hope it's birds) have been pulling some of the fluff out of our nesting bag.

We haven't actually seen any birds near the bag, with the exception of one male robin, who hopped up on a nearby branch, before flying away. Maybe he went to tell his "wife".

I don't know, but when we sauntered over to check out the nest nearby, sure enough, there were new bits of fuzz, and fluff sticking out of it, and one piece of gray yarn woven into it, that wasn't there before.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

Very cool, I've heard of this recently and was thinking we should try too.

For your shark lover, have you come across the Monterey Bay Aquarium website lately? I'm about to post about their webcams and came across this extra bit. They have a feature on Sharks: Myth and Mystery. Looks cool and includes activities: http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/efc/sharks.aspx?c=ln

My pleasure. I thought I was doing a quick blog post about the live cams, but I'm including their podcasts and videos.

So, in the livecam/video/podcast section they have two shark videos as well.

Have fun!

Thank you for your posts about the nesting material. I fished a net bag out before it hit the garbage and the kiddos & I will be making some very happy birds this weekend. Of course, it will probably end up insulating our house as a family of sparrows has begun a nesting process in the ventilation gap under our eaves & I feel badly kicking them out until after they have their brood & we watch them fly away.

I agree with Phyllis, I bet the kids were excited to see that birds were enjoying their nesting bag.

Oh wow, I still need to make our nest bag. Maybe I'll set the kids on that on Monday.
