Googly Eye Galaxy Gobblers - Space Themed Playdough

I combined a couple of playdough extension ideas, for the younger children, tonight.

First off I followed instructions from Fairy Dust Teaching, to make a batch of "galaxy playdough".

Basically, it's just homemade, midnight blue, playdough with loads of glitter, combined with spacey add ins, like plastic glow in the dark stars, or glass marbles, which make lovely planets, or whatever you happen to have on hand.

Then, borrowing an idea from Mama Smiles, I tossed some google eyes out on the table, too.

And, suddenly, the children's creations came to life...

...gobbling up entire galaxies in their path...

...and blasting us off into a cosmos of creativity.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

I have that galaxy playdoh on my list of things to do. The googly eyed creatures are cute.

You could TOTALLY turn the kiddos' pictures into a space adventure story book...

My kids love to add things into their playdoh like that. Googly eyes would be wildly popular.

i just made play dough today - but pink was the requested color. going to make black with glitter tomorrow. Was the glitter . . rough . . on the littles' hands?

Deanna - No, you really can't feel it in the play dough.
