Summer Challenge - Learn to Juggle with Water Balloons

Learning to juggle is tricky...

...no matter what the YouTube guys say (below are a couple of videos we did find helpful, though).

Learning to juggle with water balloons?

Well, that's just plain, summer fun.

We didn't really learn to juggle.  But, much to my surprise, the children stuck with it for quite a while, before beginning...

...the inevitable water balloon fight.

One tip:  If you decide to try juggling water balloons yourself, you'll want to have plenty of filled balloons on hand.

We used a couple of the instant fill boxes - not the ones pictured (non-affiliate link), but I think they're all somewhat similar.

They are fast to fill, but we had quite a few duds.

However, the children discovered the little filler stems they come on (see the arrow above) make excellent water sprayers.

That was clearly my cue to head back inside...

...while they finished up the morning watering for me.

It's always so nice when children help out with the chores.

I had a college class where we had to learn to juggle and then teach it to an elementary kid.

Needless to say, I did not do well at that particular unit of PE for Elementary Teachers. Actually I hated it with a fiery passion.

But those instant fill water balloons, those look cool, and I might be willing to try water balloons with something like that.

My 8 year old keeps saying that she wants to learn juggling. Hmm... perhaps she should try it with water balloons :D

My kids love water balloons. They're saving up for next week when their cousins will be staying with us for several days. I'm thinking the juggling idea is perfect to have them try. :)

I love simple summer fun with the whole family! Your kids are really growing up and I am amazed how much they look like each other.

That is a lot of duds! Nice use of the filler attachment though.

A couple of my brothers know how to juggle knives and torches. DH too, actually. I never really learned, although I tried half-heartedly a couple times.
