That is a very cute craft. It reminds me of the Tandy leather crafts my brothers used to do so many years ago. I was trying to think of how to make this more boy-friendly. I think they would be fine with the "sewing" but not so much with the ladybug. Perhaps just plain.
I was just realizing as I was looking at the craft that your kids are quite willing to color A LOT! I'm rather impressed with that because mine are not.
