This morning, while contemplating all the resolutions, inspirational words, and mantras I've read from friends and strangers, for the New Year, it occurred to me the best resolution I've ever come across was written nearly two thousand years ago in a letter from the apostle Peter to people of faith, when he wrote:
...add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.
For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Salvation, a new life, that's a gift. Fruitfulness - that's a resolution.
I like how you think. I do wish you lived next door!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right. After reading this, there is no other resolution to make.
ReplyDeleteThat's a keeper for sure.
ReplyDeleteThis is a good (and a difficult) one. Happy New Year!
