I was happy to find Geronimo Stilton's Valentine's Day Disaster, a cheesy Valentine's themed, Scholastic easy reader, from the Geronimo Stilton series of books, in at the library.
Not only is the story, about a clumsy, misfortune prone mouse attempting to pull off a perfect Valentine's Day party, on February 13th, filled with funny illustrations, and a plethora of fonts, in a variety of colors, it's also packed full of non-fiction asides about everything from the history of Valentine's Day, to Roman mythology, and even the origins of pizza, and there is party planning guide at the back, with decoration, games, craft, and food suggestions, including an illustrated step-by-step tutorial for making heart shaped, mini-pizzas.
It really is the perfect book to go with the contents of our Valentine's surprise box, today.
It's great to be a homeschooler.
We are doing this very same thing tomorrow! Yours turned out really well!
ReplyDeleteVery cute.. and to think I only thought of heart shaped donuts! Must remember this one for next year. :D
ReplyDeletePapa Murphy's offers a pepperorni heart pizza every year for Valentine's Day. The great irony is no one in our family likes pepperoni.
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone had fun though.
Very nice!
ReplyDeleteThose may just be the cutest little pizzas ever. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! I am going to try it with my kids. Thanks for sharing. :)
