Spokane from the Road

Photobucket

Today is Wednesday, which means there's a Geography/History link up going on over at Children Grow, Children Explore, Children Learn. There will be lots of fun projects, book suggestions, and even travel photos.

I have a few travel photos yet to share myself. Since, Debbie was so good as to show some of the interesting sights, and tastes of Spokane, on her last visit, I couldn't help but snap a couple shots as we zoomed through, on our trip. This is Spokane, WA, as we generally see it (I did pull off the highway once, when I was in high school, and traveling with a friend, for lunch at that McDonald's downtown, but other than that, this is it.)

...my youngest children are convinced it's a city of castles, and giants. Who else would need a milk bottle that big?

It's great to be a homeschooler.

  1. You got a shot of Selena's castle and the milk bottle. There use to be a restaurant further North from downtown where the building was a smaller milk bottle. In fact it was used in the movie Benny and Jude.

  4. I am sure Anna would have been fascinated by that milk bottle too. Spokane seems like a magic kingdom from the road :)

  6. Spokane also has two Dutch Bros! That's where we stopped when we went through there this last spring. Oh, and a skate park. We had to ask a stranger where that was.

  8. Oh you missed so much, just viewing from the highway! Spokane is literally FULL of fun, educational places to visit! You can eat at The Milk Bottle cafe (not the one you took a picture of, but a different milk bottle), or in a train car cafe, visit The MAC (Museum of Arts and Culture), or hit downtown on the first Friday of the month ("First Fridays") when all the galleries are open until late at night and street musicians are everywhere. The "castle" is a beautiful cathedral you can tour (there are actually a few of those), and Campbell House next door to the MAC is a fully renovated home and carriage house from the early 1800's that you can tour. There's so much more! Spokane is a great place to homeschool. :)
