I'm hoping to work a little more on our earthquake theme this week. My plan was to print out a few coloring sheets, and puzzle pages for the little ones today, but that was before I discovered they had drawn, front and back, on my entire supply of computer paper. I guess they've been feeling artistic lately. Maybe we'll come up with an earthquake related art project for today, instead.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share some of the coloring page links, that I located, and thought were good.
http://homeschooling.about.com/od/freeprintables/ss/earthquakeprint.htm is eight pages of coloring, draw and write, word search, crossword, multiple choice, and alphabetizing sheets.
http://quake.ualr.edu/schools/coloring/color1.htm is a one page coloring sheet, with a little girl depicting the Drop, Cover, and Hold On, survival technique.
http://www.azpbs.org/mastersofdisaster/earthquake.htm has a 13 page earthquake, and tsunami workbook from the Red Cross, including a really nifty comparison of the layers of the earth to a cross-section of an apple.
http://tsunami.noaa.gov/pdfs/tommy_tsunami_coloring_book.pdf is a 15 page coloring book, featuring Tommy Tsunami, and Ernie Earthquake, telling what to do before, during, and after an earthquake, or tsunami.
http://lacoa.org/PDF/ESPActivityBookForKids-English.pdf is an 11 page workbook featuring coloring, and worksheets from the Earthquake Survival Program.
Now, if only I had some paper!
It's great to be a homeschooler.
Thanks for the great links and ideas both in this post and the previous earthquake one. My 6 yr old has decided he wants to read and learn about earthquakes, starting with checking out the related Magic Tree House book from our library. These printables and activities will be very helpful!
