Eggless Valentine's Cookie Dough Bites

Today, our Valentine's box was filled with...

...a few favorite picture books...

...and key ingredients to go along with a recipe for Eggless Valentine's Cookie Dough.

Mix together 1 and 1/8 cup flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup softened butter, 3/8 cup sugar, 3/8 cup packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1 cup of Valentine's colored M&Ms.

Roll the dough into 1 inch balls, and place on a tinfoil covered cookie sheet.

Stab a plastic fork into the top of each dough ball (an idea from Goodies by Anna). Place the entire pan into the freezer for a couple of hours.

Dip each frozen cookie dough ball into melted white chocolate chips (half a bag)...

...followed quickly by candy heart sprinkles (pretty, but crunchy)...

...and place them back onto the pan for the cookie dough to thaw, and the chocolate to set up. White chocolate will set up nicely at room temperature, milk chocolate would need to go back into the freezer, then be taken out to let the cookie dough thaw.

But be warned, the books above are terribly sweet - the cookie dough is sweeter.

It's great to be a homeschooler.

  1. I just recently made these same cookie dough balls with a recipe from Taste of Home. I dipped mine in chocolate and sprinkled with salt because they are SO sweet. I love the idea of making them into Valentine's Day truffles with the white chocolate and the sprinkles.

  3. Considering my Mom made a rule when I was in high school that you have to actually bake the cookie dough when you make some, this sounds like a WONDERFUL recipe to me!
