Wishing for a Sunny Day, Craft
I found an idea for a tissue paper, and paper bowl, sun craft from Lakeshore Learning Products' free teacher resources , that was just perfect for the dreary, cloudy, wishing-it-were-spring kind of morning, we were having today.
I altered the instructions a little, giving the girls each a paper bowl, a bowl of glue, and a large number of red, yellow, and orange squares of tissue paper...
...to crumple...
...dip in the glue, and stick to the back side of the bowls.
When they had them completely covered in crumpled paper, we sat them aside to dry.
Then, we turned one bowl over, and glued red, yellow, and orange tissue paper triangles to the the lip...
...with the second bowl on top.
Then, I punched a hole through the lip of both bowls...
...to pass a string through for hanging.
It did seem to brighten the kitchen. Either that, or it was the sun outside, momentarily breaking through the clouds, adding the tiniest touch of spring to our otherwise wintry wind.
It's great to be a homeschooler.
Oh, that is so cute and sweet.
ReplyDeleteYou are my Sunshine, my only Sunshine... :0)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. Selena told me today that the Summer has forsaken her, when it was sunny for a few minutes then started raining again.
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to add some bright sunny cheer to your room.
ReplyDeleteIt's been gloomy here with all the rain...just when it's starting to warm up in the east coast! Lovely sun...it looks so bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteThat is a neat craft. It does look like it brightens up the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteAwww, how sweet.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty - and I like how both bowls were combined together in one finished craft.
ReplyDeleteYou are so creative! I am always amazed at what you come up with!
