I've seen this idea, in number of different forms, in various craft books. This version is close to the one in Mary Doerfler Dall's Little Hands Create! Art & Activities for Kids Ages 3 to 6.
Supplies:
- an empty cereal box
- a marker
- a pencil
- scissors
- a paper clip
- and a refrigerator magnet
Cut the flaps away from one side of the cereal box, so you have a plain, rectangle of cardboard.
Draw a simple figure on the crease of one of the side pieces.
Cut the figure out, keeping the bottom flap, to fold under, so the man will stand.
Slip the paper clip onto the flap.
Draw a twirly path on the rectangle, with a start, and finish line.
Hold the cardboard in one hand. Place the man at the start line. With your free hand, hold the magnet underneath the cardboard, and use it to direct the man along the path.
It's great to be a homeschooler.
I like that she's using a Leap Frog letter magnet to do this. This seems like a super fun idea.
ReplyDeleteWould also be super cool to do with little paper cars:)
ReplyDeleteOh how fun. It will go perfectly with out People of the World theme next week.
ReplyDeleteI love the simplicity of this...
ReplyDeleteThese are always so fun to make and watch our kids have fun with!
ReplyDeleteSo much money saved on so-called magnet mazes :) Great idea!
