Caramel Apple Pops

Arrange apple flavored hard candies on a cookie sheet covered in tinfoil, sprayed with a non-stick cooking spray. We used Jolly Ranchers per The Decorated Cookie, and Lifesaver like, sugar free, apple flavored candies per Busy Bee Kids Crafts. In the picture below, we used parchment paper on our cookie sheet, but it stuck to some of our suckers, so I'd say, just use the sprayed tinfoil.

Place the candies into an oven preheated to 260 degrees Fahrenheit, for about 10 minutes, or until the candies are melted together.

Remove them from the oven, and add sucker sticks. Allow them 15 minutes, or so, to cool, and harden.

Unwrap a bag's worth of caramels into a microwave safe bowl.

Melt the caramel in the microwave, by running it on high for one minute, stirring, and running it for an additional minute, stirring after 30 seconds.

Dip the apple suckers into the melted caramel, and place them onto another cookie sheet covered in greased tinfoil. Or, spoon the caramel over the suckers, turn them, and spoon over the other side. Dipping gives a better coverage, but the hot caramel melts the thin candy pretty quickly, making it a little difficult to handle.

Allow the coated lollipops to cool, and harden for an hour or two, before handing them out to be devoured. Just keep in mind, these little lollies take a real commitment to eat, so make them smaller, rather than larger, and avoid giving them to anyone with fillings to protect.

It's great to be a homeschooler.
